Ashley became a first-time mom in March 2020, and after navigating and mastering the beginnings of motherhood, it was time to master some personal growth goals next. With around 10 years of bookkeeping/finance experience, it seemed like a no-brainer to jump with both feet together into the bookkeeping service industry.

After 5 years of running her bookkeeping practice, she knew there was more she could offer her clients. In the midst of a huge revolutionary leap in AI and technology, she wanted to bring something to the table that her clients had never seen before. she sought out to become educated and certified in advisory services, and so, The Rooted CFO was born.
she comes from a background of industries that range from custom car shops, medical spas, construction and contracting, to more recently nurse practitioners, event coordinating and entertainment, courier services, marketing firms, and even tax strategists. The growth of her bookkeeping practice has allowed her to create a community of success and open communication that she is so proud and thankful of.
When not elbow-deep in work, she loves to spend time with family and friends, snowboard, travel, explore her home of Idaho, and even sometimes just cuddle up on the couch with her little at home zoo of animals and one wild child.

As a former business owner herself, Peri is no stranger to the necessity of having a clear and accurate financial picture for your business. Peri is also a first time mom and knows the struggle of trying to have a healthy work life balance.

At Bookkeeping with Ash, Peri quickly rose to the challenges to becoming a vital member of our team. As Ashley's right hand woman, you will see Peri with her hands in a multitude of client work and overall business operations.

Peri is patient and understanding and loves facing problems head on and brainstorming all optimal resolutions to come to the best, most efficient outcome. She also has a great sense of humor!

In her spare time, Peri loves spending time with her family, visiting her home town in Cabo, Mexico, working out, and having friend gatherings with all the laughs!

Jessica L. Smith, EA is our dedicated preferred tax specialist.
She is a speaker and educator with more than 15+ years of experience helping small business owners overcome their tax problems and leveraging the federal tax code to save thousands in income taxes.

As an Enrolled Agent, she has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. She is a candidate for admission to practice before the United State Tax Court as a non-attorney.

Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, summa cum laude from California College. She is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the National Association of Tax Professionals, and the Idaho Association of Tax Consultants.

Jessica’s practice focuses on implementing tax reduction strategies and representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service.
